About

Elaine is a Provisional Psychologist and holds a Doctorate in Educational Psychology from University College Dublin, Ireland. Initially training as a primary school teacher, she earned a Bachelor of Education in Education and Psychology from Mary Immaculate College, Ireland, and has taught in both mainstream and special education settings. She later completed a Postgraduate Diploma in Special and Inclusive Education at Maynooth University, Ireland before training as a Psychologist. Elaine has worked across educational, healthcare, public, and private sectors, supporting children and young people with diverse educational and additional needs. Her experience includes conducting cognitive, attainment, adaptive, and diagnostic assessments, as well as social, emotional, and behavioural screeners, consulting with schools and families, and collaborating with multidisciplinary teams. She has delivered therapeutic interventions using Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT) and Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT) and has experience designing and delivering professional development workshops. Elaine is passionate about supporting her clients and their families through a neuro-affirmative, person-centred, and strength-based approach. Her research interests include restorative practice and understanding children’s behaviour as communication, and she has published research in this area. Outside of work, Elaine enjoys exercising, meeting up with friends and traveling.
